Historic Minardi Day to bring F1 back to Imola

The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola, will once again reverberate to the sound of Formula One cars on June 25 when the event plays host to Historic Minardi Day.

Cars from throughout Minardi's 20-year tenure competing in F1 will be on track and on display, along with cars from Scuderia Toro Rosso - the Red Bull-owned team that Minardi morphed into.

"This day is dedicated to all the enthusiasts and fans of the Minardi Team who still today continue to demonstrate their fondness to me," says Minardi founder Gian Carlo Minardi. "During the Targa Florio, I saw with my own eyes their warmth and they moved me. Honestly, I did not expect it."

"The Historic Minardi Day will be the occasion for living again 340 F1 GP and 35 years of the Minardi Team, along with the drivers who contributed in writing this history," he adds. "A sport day to live all together. The more the merrier."

Minardi competed in Formula One from 1985-2005, entering 345 races and scoring 38 points. The team became something of a proving ground for future stars with the likes of Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber, Justin Wilson, Giancarlo Fisichella, Jarno Trulli, and Alex Zanardi amongst Minardi's drivers.

You can find out more about Historic Minardi Day at Tickets cost €10 (free for children under 12), and can be purchased directly at the Circuit or on the Vivaticket portal.
