NASCAR not on Scott Dixon's Radar

Scott Dixon says that he has no plans to emulate former Ganassi team mate Dario Franchitti by moving into NASCAR.

The four-time IndyCar champion has won all there is to be won in America's premier open-wheel championship, but says that a career change to a new environment isn't on the cards just yet.

"I think that as a driver you always take a look at the different formulas and think ‘what if’," he said. "I’m focused on IndyCar right now and we have a job to do for Target and Chip and the team and hopefully we can continue to do that for some time to come."

Franchitti, who like Dixon is also a four-time IndyCar champion, endured a tough single year in stock car racing in 2008. He suffered a broken ankle early in the year before his Sprint Cup team closed after just ten races. He failed to win a single race in 30 starts across NASCAR's top three divisions, although he did claim pole position for an Xfinity series race at Watkins Glen.
