Scott Speed topped qualifying for the final day of the Red Bull Global Rallycross double header event at Daytona International Speedway, but was classified fourth after changing his car over night.
The reigning series champion suffered two fires in the first two days of the event, forcing him to switch vehicle. The change paid off as he lapped the 0.742 mile circuit in 37.475 seconds, just over a tenth of a second ahead of his Volkswagen Andretti team mate Tanner Foust, who is promoted to first as a result of Speed’s penalty.
