Red Bull Global Rallycross unveils 2015 Schedule

The Red Bull Global Rallycross series have unveiled their biggest ever calendar for 2015, with 12 events, including three double headers, taking place this year.

The season kicks off in Florida in the city of St. Petersburg in Florida. The East Coast location, famous for it's IndyCar races, will be hosting Red Bull GRC for the first time.

The southern state will also host round two of the season with Daytona moving earlier into the season to avoid the extreme heat experienced last year.

Next up is two new locations with 'United States Military base' hosting round three before the first double-header of the season takes place in Detroit.

The two Washingtons are set to host rounds six and seven in August with DC taking place on August 15, and Dirtfish in Seattle, WA moving to August 30.

Following that there's a double helping of double headers with Los Angles and last season's curtain raiser Barbados hosting two events apiece before the season once again concludes in Las Vegas.

Notable absentees on the schedule are the Dirt Track at Charlotte, New York an X Games at Austin, Texas.

NBC will continue to broadcast the season with 14 and a half hours of coverage set to be shown throughout the season, an increase on 2014 by four and a half hours. GRC Lites will also enjoy their own 30-minute broadcasts for the first time too.

Speaking at the announcement of the schedule, Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne said

"The 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross schedule stands to be our best yet. The combination of one of the strongest calendars in all of motorsports, as well as one of racing’s best broadcast packages, thanks to our partnership with NBC Sports Group, is one that will take the racing world by storm this year."

"With more races and points on the line, we expect to see a thrilling chase for the championship. We are grateful to our many partners for their support throughout the 2014 season, as well as NBC for a fantastic job in their event broadcasts, and we look forward to bringing these relationships into 2015."
