The final double header event of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Seriestook place in Houston this weekend, marking the end of a 6 year absence of open wheel racing on the streets of Reliant Park.Scott Dixon closed the gap to championship leader Helio Castroneves to just nine points as he took his fourth win of the season in the first race of the weekend, Simona de Silvestro claimed her first IndyCar podium with a second place finish as Castroneves struggled with gearbox issues from early on.

Race two saw Castroneves start on pole but further ghearbox issues prevented him from maintaining his championship lead. instead, it was his team mate Will Power who took the win, leading home Dixon in what was a dramatic second race.
