Toomas Heikkinen took the gold medal in the RallyCross event at the LA X Games, his fourth win in a row in the Global RallyCross championship and his second X Games Gold medal in as many events.
Heikkinen got away cleanly and remarkably slid past an early pileup which claimed Patrik Sandell, Liam Doran, Brian Deegan and crowd favourite Ken Block.
Once Heikkinen was infront, he wasn't troubled for the lead at all and despite having to work his way through a debris strewn track, the Fin took a commanding victory ahead of his team mate, two time GRC champion Tanner Foust.
Foust who, with Silver, took a record ninth X Games medal for rallycross - One day after taking home gold in the inaugural Gymkhana event. Sverre Isachsen claimed the bronze medal with a great drive after serving a penalty for jumping the start. He had a great battle with Travis Pastrana who eventually dropped back to fifth with drifting and Pikes Peak legend Rhys Millen finishing ahead of him in fourth.
Block, Deegan and Sandell were all able to finish the race despite the first lap chaos and were classified sixth, seventh and eighth respectively. Doran and former F1 racer Scott Speed both failed to finish, the latter after also colliding with Patrik Sandell.
