Tanner Foust claimed his fourth X Games gold medal yesterday after winning the inaugural Gymkhana event at the famous extreme sports competition.
The American was initially beaten by Britain's Liam Doran in the semi-finals but the Mini driver claimed two time penalties.
Foust
faced Patrik Sandell in the final. He downed the Swede in two runs, the
second run was the fastest of the night - over two seconds quicker than
Sandell.
On his route to the final, Sandell defeated Stephan
Verdier, before walking through the next round when the engine failed on
Anton Markland's Volkswagen after he had defeated David Higgins.
Ken
Block, who's viral videos made Gymhana as well known as it is today, could
only make it as far as the quarter finals where he was eliminated by
Doran.
